Displaysearch says that the total notebook market is down 5% year-on-year. While not surprising, or even expected and celebrated, little thought is given to the falling prices of consumer electronics in the face of record and rising commodities prices. Surely someone has to pay the price, even if the bill has been swept under the carpet.
